Katie Frost Joins Wildly Open
There is a question that has quietly reshaped Wildly Open from the inside out. It isn’t a strategic framework or a market analysis. It is just two words: "Why not?"
When Katie Frost asks it, the question isn't rhetorical. It lands as both an invitation and a reckoning. It exposes the assumptions teams didn’t realize they were protecting and the constraints they have quietly accepted as permanent. This relentless pursuit of the possible is exactly why Katie is joining Wildly Open as partner and Co-founder.
Activation Over Strategy
Wildly Open exists because we believe progress is built through activation, not slide decks. Momentum comes from moving, testing, adjusting, and building capability in real time.
Katie lives in the tension between vision and action. She doesn’t just help organizations imagine a future; she translates ambition into the mechanics of movement. She builds the systems that make it operational.
Over two decades, she has led change across tourism, banking, and industrial technology. This includes a tenure at an S&P 500 company and an era in which she reshaped the construction industry from the inside.
At Chandos, she helped reposition a national construction firm into an award-winning, BCorp-certified market leader, driving revenues past 700 million. Long before sustainability became industry shorthand, the company had a key project, the St. John Ambulance building in Edmonton. It was the region's first LEED Silver project, helping establish its early leadership in green construction.
Katie has worked on hard problems like responsible tourism, zoological conservation, and sectors where economics, ethics, and public scrutiny collide. In these environments, narrative cannot be cosmetic. It must acknowledge tension, anchor in mission, and prove impact. Her work structures messaging, channels, and leadership alignment so organizations earn legitimacy, not just attention.
She brings rigour without rigidity and a deep respect for the humans operating inside complex systems. Her leadership style is mentorship-first, building teams that think critically and act decisively. As a bonus, her Yorkshire accent has a way of making direct feedback feel strangely grounding.
The Work: Curvenote
Wildly Open’s inside-out approach is visible in our work with Curvenote, a YC company challenging one of science’s oldest defaults, the static PDF.
As Curvenote redefines how research is created and shared, Katie is embedded within the team
Katie is embedded within their team to help mobilize change from the inside, to align positioning, operations, and go-to-market execution. This is not a surface-level strategy. It is building the internal muscle required to support a programmable, interoperable marketplace for science.
While much of the industry debates whether this shift is possible, Curvenote is building it. Katie is helping ensure the organization can scale what it believes in.
The Next Chapter
Katie joining as Co-founder is about shared accountability. Real change is too complex to be handled from a distance. It requires partners willing to own the outcomes alongside the organizations they serve.
At Wildly Open, change is a function of action. We challenge assumptions. We experiment boldly. And Katie is our newest catalyst to unlock this momentum for our partners.
We are proud to build this next chapter with Katie Frost.
